Criminal Trial of Co-Defendants Stern, Kapoor & Eroshevich: Day Twenty

Last week’s proceedings concluded with testimony from a member of the South Carolina family that Smith stayed with during the final months of her life, Ford Shelley Jr.  He claimed he had no recollection of prescription drug bottles with Stern’s name on them.

As the prosecution wraps up, questions remain as to when Smith’s nannies may testify. The two Haitian women, Nadine Alexie and Quethlie Alexie, are expected to be key witnesses against Stern.  Some roadblocks, however, stand in the way.  These women seemingly have encountered difficulties traveling to the United States and one apparently only speaks Creole which would require a translator.  A statement made by Ms. Alexie reveals that “Stern and Eroshevich persuaded Smith to take drugs that sometimes left her asleep for three days at a time.”

Buzz surrounding the case is gaining traction outside the courtroom as Larry Birkhead makes his media rounds.  This morning he was interviewed on Good Morning America where he claims that he was fearful for Dannielynn’s health – due to Smith’s obvious drug problems during the pregnancy.  He also protested “Howard is being held in my opinion to the same standards as the doctors, almost as if he prescribed these medications. I don’t think it is quite fair.”

  1. Finally, I have found unbiased reporting for this trial by a pro “in the business!”. Thank you Janice for making this available.

  2. brickhead makes me sick. Parading that girl around and trying to drum up sympathy for stern. WTF is wrong with him?

    No deal my azz.

  3. Ms Brenman, could I ask you your opinion of the judges spoken, seemingly biased opinions out of the presence of the jury? And of his admonintion to tamp down witness testimony?

When a witness takes the stand, he swears to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Yet this judge is not allowing the witnesses to say exactly what they said to warn Kapoor, Eroshevich AND Stern about the dangerous drug cocktails. He says he’s afraid it would “inflame” the jury.

The felonies they are charged with should inflame the jury if proved to be true beyond a reasonable doubt, IMO. Those of us who have been following the antics of Stern for the past 4 years have not gotten over being inflamed over his actions.

What gives with this judge? Please give us your opinion.

    Thank you.

    1. Sizzles, you are right! Let the witnesses speak out the whole truth. And if a juror gets disgusted, sick or inflamed, so what? At least the ones of us still here above the ground are not murdered by pimps who were working us for money.

  4. all of those concerned in this case should be held to a high standard because drugs are involved….

  5. Larry Birkhead’s total 180 regarding Howard Stern and the drugs is crazy. I wonder if it has anything at all to do with the fact that Stern controls Dannielynn’s pursestrings?!

  6. The doctors should be held to high ethical standards for doctors and the lawyer should be held to the high ethical standards for lawyers. They should not be excused or allowed to be negligent because they hold too much power, and their duties should be commensurate to the powers they hold over their patients and clients.

  7. Well, Larry Birkhead is obviously a sycophant to Howard Stern for some reason.
Ridiculous to blame it only on the doctors. It took the doctors AND Howard Stern for this conspiracy. Birkhead is disgusting to me.
