The Supreme Court: Locked and Loaded

Second Amendment supporters – you have something to hang your gun rack on.  Monday, the United States Supreme Court ruled that all 50 states have federal protection for the right to keep and bear arms.  Chicago and Washington D.C., were in favor of handgun bans, despite an obvious conflict with our Second Amendment which guarantees all citizens the right to keep and bear arms.

The NRA stated its opposition to Elena Kagan’s nomination, as well as Sonia Sotomayor’s during her confirmation process.  Both women favor gun control.  Predictably, Sotomayor was one of 4 dissenters in Monday’s decision.

  1. “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” is a principle essential to freedom.
Does crippling that right put us on the road to slavery?

  2. Sotomeyer is an abomination to the judicial system; voting against the
    firemen on reverse discrimination…and
then siding with the minority over gun
control….What is it with someone who
can’t read the second amendment and understand the constext and meaning?

  3. Certain minor restrictions are valid to
prevent felons and other ne’er do wells
from legally obtaining a firearm. However, No government should be allowed
to prevent honest law abiding citizens
the opportunity to legally obtain a firearm for their defense.

  4. I agree with Jason, but go one step further; I have a concealed weapon
permit. That drives a democrat up the
wall that i have the ability to protect
myself. I refuse to be a victim.
