Members of the Brazilian military have thus far located 28 of the 228 presumed dead passengers of Air France, flight 447, which was deemed “lost” this past week. Subsequent findings reveal the plane’s crash site to be approximately 230 miles off a Brazilian coastline.
Facing pressure from its pilots, Air France decided to immediately replace airspeed sensors on all of its A330 and A340 jets. French air accident investigators have not yet determined that a problem with the speed sensors caused the doomed Airbus A330-200 447 to crash. In the meantime, they are looking into whether inconsistent speed measurements could have played a role since speed sensors can be vulnerable to icing in high-altitude storms, the type of weather that this plane may have encountered. Again, my prayers are with all of you affected by this tragic occurrence.
If Air France is found to have been negligent in replacing the sensors…and it was a contributing factor to the crash….Air France management should be prosecuted for gross negligence and flights suspended to the USA…until Air France demonstrates a willingness to follow ALL directives and bulletins from the FAA.
I agree with Charlie & Doris!!
Amen! to Charlie. Those in charge of our lives should be held to the highest standards of care, the very highest standards of care. I fear that executives are often considering money and profits when they should ONLY be looking at safety.
My husband repairs aircraft and he told me that he sometimes sees the actual blood and flesh of dead people in the damaged aircraft. Having this in mind, every minute of his work he is dedicated to performing his job as perfectly as possible.
If there is any evidence that the executives erred on the side of money over life, prosecute them without mercy, no matter how much they donated to anyone’s campaign.
